Molecules are so small that you can't "see" them in the traditional sense. So chemists have to build models--and we're not talking physical models, we're talking mathematical and conceptual models--that help them explain and predict how these molecules behave in the lab. Molecular orbital theory is one of these models. This module will explain how MO theory works and why it's useful.
